Billing and the send-metered model
Last updated June 30, 2026
SimpleNewsletter365 charges by emails sent per month, not by the number of contacts you store.
Contacts are always unlimited
Every plan, including Free, has unlimited contacts. You can store and grow your entire audience at no cost and pay only for the emails you actually send.
What counts as a send?
Each email delivered to a recipient counts toward your monthly allowance. The allowances are 10,000 (Free), 20,000 (Starter), 40,000 (Growth), and 100,000 (Scale) emails per month.
What happens at the cap?
When you reach your monthly send allowance, sending pauses with a prompt to upgrade. This is a soft cap: there is no automatic pay-as-you-go overage billing, so you are never charged a surprise amount. The counter resets at the start of each billing period.
Monthly or annual
You can pay monthly or annually. Annual billing is about 20% cheaper than paying monthly. See current prices on the Pricing page.
What do paid plans add?
Starter adds custom domains and branded links, click analytics, footer removal, and advanced customization. Growth adds team management and shared mailbox or alias sending. Scale adds more volume, unlimited seats, and priority support.
